Saudi Arabian powerhouse Al-Hilal is on the verge of finalizing the acquisition of Crysencio Summerville after reaching a deal with West Ham valued at up to £60 million. The structure of the agreement includes a base fee of £55 million, with an additional £5 million tied to performance-related clauses.
The Dutch winger has now been granted approval to undergo a medical examination, bringing him closer to completing his move to the Riyadh-based club following the resolution of transfer negotiations between the two teams.
West Ham accepts enhanced bid for Summerville
West Ham initially rejected a proposal worth roughly £40 million for Summerville, but Al-Hilal came back with a substantially higher offer that persuaded the London side to agree to the sale.
The 24-year-old had also been linked with Aston Villa, but the Saudi club has now positioned itself to finalize the transfer.
With the terms settled, Summerville has been cleared to proceed with his medical checks before the move is officially completed.
Al-Hilal deal strengthens West Ham’s financial position
This transfer marks another significant financial gain for West Ham following their relegation from the Premier League in May.
Last month, the club also offloaded midfielder Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham for £85 million, while confirming that Jarrod Bowen would stay at the club after agreeing to revised contract terms despite their drop to the Championship.
This latest sale continues West Ham’s strategy of generating revenue and reducing their wage expenditure.
West Ham continues squad overhaul after relegation
Since returning to the Championship, West Ham has been restructuring its roster in preparation for the 2026-27 season.
The club has also opted to retain manager Nuno Espirito Santo as they aim for promotion back to the Premier League.
Selling Summerville is part of this broader plan, with the deal expected to provide additional financial flexibility ahead of the new campaign.
