West Ham United stormed back to the summit of the Championship in commanding fashion, dismantling Wrexham 6-0 to secure a fourth straight win. Jarrod Bowen broke the deadlock before Joel Piroe doubled the advantage ahead of the interval.
The home side maintained their control after the restart, as Konstantinos Mavropanos, Taty Castellanos, Mohamadou Kante, and Manor Solomon each got on the scoresheet. For Wrexham, it marked their most lopsided league loss in 22 years.
West Ham overpower Wrexham in Championship encounter
Following their midweek matches, both sides rotated their lineups, with Wrexham handing starts to six new players, among them debutant defender Joe Worrall. West Ham dictated possession for much of the opening stages, though Castellanos nodded over from a Solomon delivery.
Bowen then drove purposefully into the box and forced Anthony Patterson to tip his effort onto the upright. From the ensuing corner, Mavropanos headed off target, while Max Kilman could not connect at the back post.
Piroe blazed over as West Ham kept pressing, and they eventually went ahead through Bowen just before the half-hour. Divine Mukasa and Solomon linked up to carve out the opportunity for Morato, whose low ball across goal was tapped in by Bowen from close distance.

Wrexham spent most of the first period trapped in their own territory and could only muster sporadic breaks. Danny Imray had a shot blocked, while George Dobson, facing the club he supported as a boy, watched Mavropanos hack his attempt off the goal line after the defender had initially surrendered possession.
Almost straight after Wrexham’s wasted chance, West Ham struck again. Castellanos sprung the offside trap and laid it off for Piroe, who converted to hand the hosts a two-goal cushion going into the break.
West Ham picked up right where they left off after the restart. Bowen’s long ball sent Solomon through, but Patterson denied him before Mavropanos nodded in from Bowen’s corner a minute later.
Wrexham thrashed as Championship leaders impress
West Ham stayed threatening on the break, with Bowen shooting wide before substitute Kyle Walker-Peters embarked on a surging run and teed up Castellanos for the fourth.
Solomon then played Kante in behind, enabling him to make it 5-0 with 14 minutes left. The outcome was never in question, yet West Ham kept pushing forward.
Solomon capped his man-of-the-match display by netting the final goal, his left-footed strike finding the net via the post past Patterson. The resounding win served notice to West Ham’s Championship challengers, while Wrexham must now regroup before next Saturday’s clash with Southampton.
