West Ham have officially secured the services of Manor Solomon from Tottenham, with the winger putting pen to paper on a three-year deal. The move comes as the club gears up for its first campaign in the second tier since 2011-12.
The Hammers are believed to have paid close to £5m for the Israel international, although the fee has not been officially confirmed by either club. Solomon becomes West Ham’s third permanent acquisition of the current transfer window.
Solomon arrives at the London Stadium
Solomon, 27, joins West Ham following a loan spell at Fiorentina last season, where he featured in 19 matches. Since his move to Tottenham in 2023, the winger has also spent time on loan with Leeds United and Villarreal.
The Israel international is set to don the number 10 jersey for the Hammers as they prepare for life in the Championship after suffering relegation from the top flight.
Solomon expressed his admiration for West Ham’s Premier League pedigree and European achievements, while making it clear that securing an immediate return to the top division is the primary goal.
Promotion remains the focus
The new signing referenced West Ham’s European triumph three years ago and stated his belief that the club belongs in the Premier League. However, his immediate attention is firmly on helping the team achieve promotion.
“Of course, our first task is to get promoted, to go back to the Premier League,” Solomon stated.
The winger has earned 49 caps for Israel and claimed three league titles during his tenure with Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine. He later had a loan stint with Fulham before making the switch to Tottenham.
Solomon bolsters summer recruitment
Solomon is the latest addition to a West Ham squad undergoing significant changes following their relegation. He follows Venezuela midfielder Keiber Lamadrid and former Netherlands defender Joel Veltman as the club’s other permanent signings this summer.
His prior experience in the Championship includes helping Leeds United secure the 2024-25 title, providing the winger with valuable familiarity with the division he will now compete in at West Ham.
The Hammers have also been busy with outgoings this transfer window. Winger Crysencio Summerville has departed for Al-Hilal, while midfielder Mateus Fernandes has made the move to Tottenham, among several other exits.
