Liverpool has received a boost in their efforts to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, as a series of moves involving French players could influence the rest of the summer transfer window.
The Reds are looking for a new wide attacker after Mohamed Salah’s departure on a free transfer. Although other names have been linked in recent weeks, the latest reports indicate that Barcola has become Liverpool’s primary target.
Bradley Barcola transfer picks up speed
Liverpool are said to have received a price tag of around 145 million pounds from Paris Saint-Germain for Barcola, who is reportedly unlikely to extend his contract with the French side.
The winger has risen to the top of Liverpool’s wish list after reports claimed the club missed out on Yan Diomande.
According to the report, Liverpool had a 100 million euro offer for the 19-year-old turned down by RB Leipzig, and the Ivory Coast youngster is now close to joining Real Madrid.
Maghnes Akliouche and PSG reshape Liverpool’s plans
Liverpool also started talks with Monaco over Maghnes Akliouche earlier this month as they looked at ways to boost their attack.
However, Foot Mercato reports that Akliouche has told Liverpool he prefers to join Paris Saint-Germain rather than move to the Premier League.
If Barcola leaves PSG, the French champions are expected to go after Akliouche as his replacement, setting off a potential chain reaction between the clubs.
Monaco deal could pave the way for Bradley Barcola move
According to Fabrizio Romano, Monaco has agreed to a 25 million euro deal with Nantes to sign Matthis Abline.
Abline can play in all three attacking positions, giving Monaco a ready-made replacement if Akliouche departs.
That series of transfers could allow Akliouche to move to Paris Saint-Germain and, in turn, open the door for Liverpool to step up their pursuit of Bradley Barcola as they continue to search for reinforcements on the wings.
