Julian Brandt has finalized his switch to Ajax, putting pen to paper on a long-term contract with the Dutch giants. The Amsterdam outfit managed to beat out Leeds United for the signature of the former Borussia Dortmund playmaker, who had been available on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old attacker became a free agent following the expiration of his deal with Borussia Dortmund last summer. Brandt has now agreed to stay at Ajax until 2029, marking a fresh chapter in his career.

Ajax have pulled off a significant coup by securing Brandt, overtaking Leeds United in the pursuit of the seasoned midfielder.
At one point, the English side seemed to be the frontrunners for his services. Yet Brandt ultimately opted for Ajax, and his transfer was officially confirmed on Friday.
The arrangement allows the former Germany international to continue his playing days in the Eredivisie.
Brandt’s Ajax deal follows Dortmund exit
Brandt entered the market as a free agent after his contract with Borussia Dortmund came to an end last summer.
He has now inked a contract with Ajax that ties him to the club through 2029. His arrival also marks him as the ninth German player to don the Ajax shirt.
Other German footballers who have featured for the Amsterdam side in the 21st century include Diant Ramaj, Heiko Westermann, and Amin Younes.
