Bayern Munich draws with Dortmund as Kane fails from the spot

Borussia Dortmund salvaged a late point against Bayern Munich thanks to Fabio Silva’s 89th-minute goal, forcing a dramatic draw in Der Klassiker. Harry Kane endured a tough afternoon for the home side, missing a second-half penalty and failing to score despite multiple chances.

The outcome keeps Bayern at the Bundesliga summit, level on points with Dortmund and ahead of their rivals on goal difference. The match also featured goals from Konrad Laimer and Dayot Upamecano for the hosts, while Serhou Guirassy and Silva scored for the visitors.

Harry Kane’s penalty miss influences Bayern vs Dortmund encounter

Dortmund believed they had taken the lead when Jobe Bellingham, brother of Real Madrid midfielder Jude, slotted the ball past Jonas Urbig. However, the goal was disallowed after Carney Chukwuemeka was penalised for fouling the Bayern goalkeeper.

Bayern then went ahead through Konrad Laimer, who surged forward and scored from the rebound after his initial attempt had been saved. Kane had a chance to double the lead early in the second half but struck his penalty against the crossbar.

Dortmund took advantage of the missed opportunity when Serhou Guirassy fired a low shot past Urbig to level at 1-1. Bayern responded six minutes later as Dayot Upamecano headed in from close range after Kane had headed a delivery back across goal.

Kane hit the crossbar again after being played through by Nathaniel Brown, although the assistant referee had already raised the flag for offside.

Fabio Silva secures late draw for Dortmund against Bayern

With Bayern seemingly heading for victory, Fabio Silva grabbed a late equaliser in the 89th minute, drilling his shot beyond Urbig to make it 2-2. The hosts had one last chance to claim all three points when Lennart Karl hit the crossbar in stoppage time, but Dortmund held firm.

Bayern were again managed by assistant Aaron Danks, with Vincent Kompany having been discharged from hospital earlier in the week. The draw leaves Bayern top of the Bundesliga, with Dortmund level on points and behind only on goal difference.
