Torres und Yamal teilen sich Zarra

Joan Garcia has claimed the Zamora trophy in his first campaign with Barcelona, an achievement widely viewed as proof of his high level of performance. Achieving this distinction while operating behind the team’s aggressive defensive setup is considered particularly demanding.

His success adds another individual honour to Barcelona’s season tally, highlighting strong performances across different positions within the squad.

Spanish scoring contest in La Liga

At the other end of the pitch, Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal were at the centre of the race for the Zarra trophy, awarded to the highest-scoring Spanish player in La Liga. Both finished the season with 16 league goals each, putting them level at the top of the national scoring chart.

The overall league scoring table was led by Kylian Mbappe, who ended the campaign with 25 goals for Real Madrid. Vedat Muriqi followed with 23 goals, while Ante Budimir recorded 17.

Among Spanish contenders, Mikel Oyarzabal finished just behind the leaders with 15 goals, while Toni Martinez and Borja Iglesias both concluded the season on 14.

Torres and Yamal share Zarra honour

With Lamine Yamal absent from Barcelona’s final fixtures, including El Clasico, Ferran Torres had a chance to move ahead in the race for the award. Going into the closing match, both players were level on goals, leaving the outcome open.

Torres needed just one goal to secure the prize outright, but he was unable to score against Valencia. He did, however, provide an assist for Robert Lewandowski, and as a result, the two Barcelona teammates ended up sharing the Zarra trophy.
