Hoeneß insists Kane will remain at Bayern and denies rumors of a move to Barcelona

FC Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness has dismissed speculation linking Harry Kane with a switch to FC Barcelona, insisting the Spanish club lack the financial capacity to complete such a deal and stressing that the forward will stay in Germany.

Hoeness praised Kane’s impact, calling him the club’s most successful signing, after he joined FC Bayern Munich in 2023 for around €90 million. He also underlined that Bayern operate as a side that recruits talent rather than selling it, reinforcing the idea that the striker is not available.

The comments came after Kane scored a hat trick in a 3-0 win over VfB Stuttgart, closing a season in which he reached 61 goals for Bayern and helped secure both the Bundesliga title and the DFB-Pokal. Despite being under contract until 2027, his name has still been linked with Barcelona.

Kane focuses on World Cup amid contract pause

Kane has responded to the ongoing speculation by stating that discussions over his future have been delayed so he can concentrate on the upcoming World Cup with England. He explained that there is no urgency around negotiations and described the situation as calm.

The striker added that he is enjoying his time at FC Bayern Munich, reinforcing his contentment while contract talks remain on hold. His remarks align with Bayern’s public confidence that he will remain part of their long-term plans.

Barcelona striker targets amid financial constraints

Barcelona’s interest in attacking reinforcements has continued as they prepare for a squad rebuild following the departure of Robert Lewandowski. The forward recently played his final match for the club on Saturday, scoring his 120th goal and finishing among their top 10 all-time scorers.

Among the reported options, sources have mentioned Julián Álvarez as a target, although his club Atlético Madrid are said to value him at more than €100 million. João Pedro has also been linked with a potential move to the Camp Nou.

While Barcelona’s financial situation has previously been constrained by LaLiga restrictions, club sources indicate that their position has improved, even as questions remain over how large their summer transfer budget will be.
