Torino secured an impressive 3-0 win against Parma, as Giovanni Simeone found the net twice and Che Adams added another goal, ruining Alberto Gilardino’s first home game in charge of the hosts.
The away team made an instant impact at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, building a two-goal cushion before the 30-minute mark. Parma generated chances to re-enter the match but could not convert their pressure into goals before Simeone’s second goal sealed the result in the final stages.
Torino seizes control through Simeone’s early strike
Parma came into the game with four points following a 3-0 loss to Inter. Gilardino could not select Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, Pontus Almqvist, and Elphege, who had undergone surgery for appendicitis. Adrián Bernabé returned to the midfield, and Giovanni Fabbian was also named in the starting eleven.
Torino arrived after defeating Udinese in their previous match. Ignazio Abate’s team was missing Niccolò Fortini and Emirhan Ilkhan, while Ardian Ismajli took Ricardo Rodríguez’s place in defence.
The visitors began aggressively, with Adams having an attempt blocked inside the first minute before Saúl Coco headed wide from the ensuing corner. Torino did not wait long to turn their pressure into a goal.
In the fourth minute, Rafik Belghali sent a lofted cross into the box, where Simeone struck a left-footed shot into the top corner to put Torino ahead early.
Che Adams extends Torino’s lead
Parma had a chance to reply when Pietro Comuzzo headed wide from close distance. However, Torino scored again in the 24th minute to tighten their hold on the game.
Simeone’s shot was blocked, but Adams was quickest to the loose ball and headed in the rebound. The goal was reviewed by VAR for a possible offside, but the call stood, leaving Parma two goals down.
The hosts started to create more dangerous chances as the first half wore on. Lucas Perri made an excellent diving save to deny David Romero before handling headers from Diego Carlos and Fabbian.
Parma nearly pulled one back just before the break, but Enrico Delprato failed to hit the target from inside the six-yard box. That missed chance meant Gilardino’s team went into half-time still trailing by two goals.
Parma’s pressure does not alter the outcome
Gilardino made two substitutions at the interval, bringing on Dominik Drobnič and Simone Lontani to try to boost Parma’s attacking threat.
The home side kept pushing forward. El Bilal Touré headed narrowly wide, while Lontani shot over the crossbar. Perri also denied Bernabé and Mariano Troilo as Parma sought a breakthrough.
Sascha Britschgi was booked for diving, while Romero later curled an effort just past the far post. Despite the increased pressure, Parma could not get past Torino’s defence.
Simeone confirms Torino’s 3-0 win
Torino finally put the game out of reach in the 69th minute, with Simeone completing his brace in spectacular style. After receiving Belghali’s headed pass, the striker unleashed a powerful long-range shot that flew into the top corner.
Parma seemed to have found a consolation goal when substitute Matija Frigan finished from Djibril Diallo’s pass. However, a VAR review disallowed the effort for offside, denying the hosts a late reward for their efforts.
Perri then comfortably saved another attempt from Frigan after the substitute’s solo run, ensuring Torino kept a clean sheet. Simeone’s double and Adams’ first-half header ultimately secured a comprehensive away victory and left Gilardino without a positive result in his first home match in charge of Parma.
