Vasilevskiy captures second Vezina Trophy after standout campaign

Tampa Bay Lightning netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy has been awarded the Vezina Trophy for the second time in his career, with the league confirming the honor on Saturday. The award highlights his performance across another strong season in goal.

The 31-year-old adds the prize to his previous win from the 2018–19 season.

Season output and key statistics

Vasilevskiy featured in 58 regular-season games for Tampa Bay, finishing third across the league with a .912 save percentage and ranking second with a 2.31 goals-against average.

He also recorded two shutouts during the campaign and matched a career high in victories with 39 wins, the most in the NHL this season.

Voting breakdown and competition

The decision was supported by 17 first-place selections, with his name appearing on 28 of the 32 submitted ballots.

He concluded the vote with 114 points, finishing ahead of Ilya Sorokin, who placed second with 51 points, and Jeremy Swayman, who finished third with 46 points.

This latest honor marks his second career Vezina win, with his first coming in the 2018–19 NHL season.
