Real Madrid defeats Valencia 3-0 to continue winning streak

Real Madrid maintained their strong performances by earning a comfortable 3-0 win against Valencia at the Mestalla, achieving their eighth straight victory. Federico Valverde, Arda Güler, and Kylian Mbappé all scored as José Mourinho’s team collected another three points in LaLiga.

Valverde broke the deadlock with a strong shot from outside the box after Mbappé’s free-kick was blocked. Güler doubled the lead with a close-range volley before Mbappé confirmed the result in the second half, bringing his season total to 17 goals.

Valencia’s tough night concluded with José Gayà getting a late red card after a dangerous tackle on Mbappé. Real Madrid have now recorded an eight-match winning run for the first time since 2022.

Real Madrid dominates Valencia at Mestalla

Madrid controlled possession in the early phases, holding 86% of the ball after nine minutes, though they initially found it difficult to create clear opportunities. The match also featured a minute of applause honoring CD Tenerife player Jesús de Miguel, who passed away the previous weekend.

Valencia gradually settled into the game and came close to scoring first. Aaron Mayol tested Thibaut Courtois after taking advantage of an Aurélien Tchouaméni error, while Guido Rodríguez seemed to score from the following corner but was ruled offside.

The opening goal arrived after Pablo Maffeo fouled Mbappé near the edge of the penalty area. The Valencia defender was shown a yellow card, and though Mbappé’s free-kick hit the wall, the rebound reached Valverde, who struck into the bottom corner.

Real Madrid swiftly doubled their advantage. Jude Bellingham created the chance with a pass from the left, and a deflection directed the ball toward Güler. The Turkish midfielder calmly volleyed in to make it 2-0.

Madrid kept threatening before the break, with Güler forcing a save and Yan Diomande shooting over from inside the box. The visitors entered halftime with a comfortable two-goal cushion.

Mbappé confirms Real Madrid win as Valencia receive red card

The second half unfolded similarly, with Real Madrid continuing to attack. Güler, Bellingham, and Mbappé all had chances to extend the lead, but Valencia initially avoided conceding again.

Mbappé finally scored after a well-executed move. Courtois sent a long ball forward; Güler received it and provided an excellent pass into the Frenchman’s path. Mbappé dribbled around the goalkeeper before rolling the ball into the empty net, extending his scoring run to seven consecutive matches.

Valencia’s night grew even worse when captain José Gayà was sent off for a dangerous challenge on Mbappé. The hosts were reduced to ten men as Madrid comfortably played out the rest of the match.

The 3-0 outcome gave Real Madrid their eighth consecutive win, a streak they had not achieved since 2022. They drew level on points with Barcelona at the top of LaLiga, ahead of their rivals’ trip to face Atlético Madrid the next evening.
