Chelsea set to secure Joao Pedro with new deal until 2032

Chelsea are making final arrangements to sign Joao Pedro to a renewed contract lasting until 2032, ahead of the upcoming Premier League season. Officials at Stamford Bridge anticipate the paperwork will be finalized shortly, while representatives of the 24-year-old forward confirm that all terms have been mutually agreed upon.

The fresh agreement is set to keep the Brazilian at the club through 2032, with a clause that permits Chelsea to prolong the deal by an additional two seasons. Since his transfer from Brighton last summer, Joao Pedro has rapidly become a cornerstone of the team’s offensive strategy.

Joao Pedro’s new deal moves closer to completion

Chelsea secured Joao Pedro for an upfront fee of £55m, plus £5m in potential performance-based bonuses, and the striker is regarded internally as a standout acquisition. His output during the previous campaign reinforced this view, especially after he became the first Chelsea striker since Diego Costa to net 20 goals in a single season without relying on penalties.

The 24-year-old also contributed significantly to Chelsea’s Club World Cup triumph, recording three goals during that competition. His momentum has carried into the current pre-season period, where Joao Pedro has scored eight times in seven friendly appearances.

The club now appears eager to reward his development with a lengthy commitment that might secure his services at Stamford Bridge until 2032, with the extension option potentially stretching that timeline even further.

Chelsea forward prepares for league opener

Joao Pedro is slated to spearhead the attack when Chelsea face Fulham in their first Premier League match on Monday. New signings Danny Welbeck and Emmanuel Emegha are anticipated to provide additional striking depth throughout the season.

His elevated status within the squad has also been highlighted by a jersey number change. Chelsea has assigned the No. 9 shirt to Joao Pedro, with Liam Delap relinquishing it.

Delap is now available for transfer at a fee of around £50m, with Nottingham Forest and Leeds United both expressing interest in acquiring the striker.

Chelsea planning additional contract extensions

Joao Pedro may not be the sole player at Chelsea receiving attention for a new contract. The club is preparing to negotiate several renewals for key squad members after the transfer window closes.

Levi Colwill and Estevao Willian are among those who might be in line for fresh terms. For the moment, however, Joao Pedro seems closest to finalizing a long-term arrangement following his strong run of form at Stamford Bridge.
