Hansi Flick’s squad had already completed their opening warm-up game in front of fans on Friday, when they headed to England and suffered a loss to Birmingham City via a penalty shootout after their training camp.

Barcelona were gearing up to face Championship outfit Preston North End in their subsequent warm-up fixture following the encounter with Birmingham City.
Yet, on the day before the game, Hansi Flick and his players were told that the friendly was no longer happening.
Reports from Mundo Deportivo indicate the cancellation stemmed from Preston lacking enough available players, which would have forced them to rely heavily on numerous Under-21 squad members.
