Silva hints at City exit amid Juventus interest

Juventus are reportedly monitoring Bernardo Silva, who has suggested he could consider leaving Manchester City at the end of the season, while admitting his ideal lifestyle lies elsewhere.

Contract situation and transfer interest

Silva’s current deal with Manchester City is set to expire at the end of the campaign, and reports from Italy indicate that Juventus are eager to secure the midfielder on a free transfer this summer.

However, the Serie A side may face competition from Benfica, with the possibility of a return to his homeland presenting an attractive option for the 31-year-old.

Balancing football and personal life

Speaking on the club’s official podcast, Silva reflected on the contrast between his professional career and his life away from the pitch. He explained that family considerations play a key role in his decisions, particularly alongside his wife and daughter.

He highlighted cultural and lifestyle differences between Portugal and England, mentioning factors such as weather, food, and daily life. While he appreciates aspects of living in Manchester, he admitted it does not fully match what he ideally wants outside football.

Love for City but openness to change

Despite his reservations about life in England, Silva made it clear he holds deep affection for Manchester City. He praised the club environment, including teammates, staff, supporters, and the atmosphere at the Etihad Stadium.

The Portuguese international also revealed that earlier in his time in Manchester, he considered leaving due to personal reasons. Ultimately, he stayed—and is glad he did—pointing to the success and memorable achievements he would have otherwise missed, including major trophies and his current leadership role.

Still, he reiterated that location plays a significant role in his long-term happiness, joking that he would remain at the club indefinitely if it were based in Lisbon.
