Klopp dismisses Real Madrid rumours and reflects on future

Jürgen Klopp has rejected claims linking him with a move to Real Madrid, describing the reports as unfounded. The 58-year-old insisted that neither he nor his representative has been approached regarding a potential role.

Speaking in Munich during a media event, Klopp emphasized that any genuine interest would have already become known. He stressed that there had been no communication at all, making it clear that the rumours lack any basis.

Although his name has surfaced as a possible successor to Álvaro Arbeloa, Klopp reiterated that there is currently no discussion or plan involving the Spanish club.

Life after Liverpool and openness to coaching return

After leaving Liverpool FC at the conclusion of the 2023-24 campaign, Klopp stepped away from coaching and took on a new position as head of global football with Red Bull. Since then, he has not returned to the touchline.

Despite enjoying his current role, the German did not completely close the door on a future comeback. He acknowledged that while he is at an advanced stage in life, he does not consider his coaching career fully over.

At the same time, he underlined that there are no immediate plans to return, preferring to focus on the present rather than speculate about what might come next.

Achievements and firm stance on England

Klopp’s time at Liverpool began in October 2015, with his contract originally set to run until 2026. However, he announced in January 2024 that he would step down early, explaining that he had run out of energy.

During his tenure, he guided the club to major success, including winning the Champions League in 2019 and securing a long-awaited league title in the 2019-20 season. His period in charge also brought domestic cup triumphs, as well as victories in the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

Even though he may consider coaching again in the future, Klopp firmly stated that he would never take charge of another English club. He made it clear that his connection with Liverpool rules out any possibility of managing elsewhere in the country.

Before his time in England, Klopp worked in Germany with Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund, where he achieved notable success by winning consecutive Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012.
