Tottenham sack yet another manager this season

Tottenham Hotspur have dismissed Igor Tudor after only 44 days in charge, with the club teetering dangerously close to relegation from the Premier League.

Igor Tudor was appointed as a temporary solution to succeed Thomas Frank after his January dismissal, but his tenure ultimately proved to be unsuccessful and deeply disappointing.

In a brief seven-match spell, Igor Tudor has managed just one win in five Premier League outings—losing four—and also saw Tottenham Hotspur eliminated from the UEFA Champions League following a 7–5 aggregate defeat to Atlético Madrid.

Tottenham Hotspur currently finds itself 17th in the standings, holding a narrow one-point lead over West Ham United with seven games left to play in the season.

Confirming Igor Tudor’s exit, Tottenham Hotspur issued an official statement announcing his departure.

“We can confirm that it has been mutually agreed for Head Coach Igor Tudor to leave the club with immediate effect.”

“Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci have also left their respective roles of goalkeeping coach and physical coach.”

“We thank Igor, Tomislav, and Riccardo for their efforts during the past six weeks, in which they worked tirelessly. We also acknowledge the bereavement that Igor has recently suffered and send our support to him and his family at this difficult time.”

“An update on a new head coach will be provided in due course.”

The decision over Tottenham Hotspur’s next head coach will be pivotal to the club’s long-term stability, with numerous candidates in contention to replace Igor Tudor.

It is still uncertain whether the Tottenham Hotspur leadership will opt for another interim appointment or commit to a long-term manager tasked initially with steering the club clear of relegation from the Premier League.

Reported candidates to succeed Igor Tudor include former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino—currently leading the United States men’s national soccer team—alongside Harry Redknapp, Sean Dyche, and Roberto De Zerbi.
