Fenerbahce has become increasingly optimistic about completing the signing of Mason Greenwood from Marseille. The Turkish side believes negotiations are progressing in a positive direction as they attempt to bring the 24-year-old forward to Istanbul.
Marseille have shown a willingness to negotiate the player’s departure, creating confidence within Fenerbahce that an agreement can be reached during the transfer window.
Interest in Greenwood has been evident throughout the summer, with both Fenerbahce and Roma linked with the former Manchester United attacker.
Transfer fee and previous agreement
Fenerbahce are convinced a transfer worth around 45 million euros (£38.36m) could be enough to secure Greenwood’s services from the French club.
Greenwood joined Marseille from Manchester United in July 2024 in a deal valued at £26.6 million. Since arriving in France, he has registered 48 goals in 76 appearances across all competitions.
When confirming his departure, Manchester United stated that the agreement included a sizeable sell-on clause, which is believed to be approximately 40%.
