Serie A battle tightens as Milan drop points

A sudden downturn for Milan has transformed the battle near the top of the table, opening the door to a tightly packed race for Champions League places. With Serie A now past the halfway point of Week 32, the picture is becoming clearer—and far more competitive than expected.

For much of the campaign, it seemed that Inter, Milan, and Napoli were locked in their own contest at the summit, leaving Juventus, Como, Roma, and Atalanta to fight over fourth place. That assumption has now been shaken.

Juventus push ahead as Atalanta lose ground

Consecutive losses have dragged Milan down, dropping them out of the top two for the first time since Week 11 and increasing the pressure. At the same time, Juventus secured a narrow 1-0 victory away to Atalanta, a result that significantly weakens Atalanta’s hopes of finishing fourth, leaving them at least seven points behind that target.

Roma also strengthened their position with a commanding 3-0 win over Pisa. As things stand, only six points separate Milan in third from Roma in sixth, underlining just how tight the race has become.

Crucial clashes set up dramatic finish

The outcome of Como’s match against Inter could tighten the standings even further. A win for Como would bring them within two points of Milan, while also keeping Luciano Spalletti within three points of the Rossoneri.

Looking ahead, several direct encounters promise to shape the final standings. Key fixtures include Roma facing Atalanta in Week 33, Milan taking on Juventus in Week 34, Como meeting Napoli in Week 35, and Milan clashing with Atalanta in Week 36. These matchups could prove decisive in determining who secures a place in the top four.
