“One of the Best in the World”, Salah Hails Liverpool Teammate

Dominik Szoboszlai starred in Liverpool’s latest FA Cup triumph and received high praise from Mohamed Salah for it.
The Reds, who have been inconsistent this season but still possess enough quality to smash their opponents, are currently in a celebratory mood after their latest outing in the FA Cup. They faced Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup fourth round and won convincingly thanks to goals from Curtis Jones, Szoboszlai and Salah.

Szoboszlai, however, was prominent throughout the match, to the point of being its protagonist. Salah was asked what he thought of the team’s chances in the coming rounds of the tournament. In response, he took the chance to praise the Hungarian while centring him as the team’s most important player.

“It’s going to depend on his performances,” Salah said of Szoboszlai on TNT Sports. “He is one of the best players in the world right now. It’s good for everyone, and I hope we can do it again.”

Liverpool, meanwhile, are currently worrying about the Hungarian’s future. There have been talks linking him to Real Madrid in recent times, and those talks have resurfaced as the player enters the last two years of his contract with the Reds.

The £60 million signing is apparently keen to stay on, but Real Madrid’s shadow looms. The player’s dream is also to play for the Spanish giants, who are currently lacking depth in midfield and are expected to make a move for a high-quality midfielder in the coming window.

That has prompted former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given to implore Liverpool to make his extension a priority.
“He’s been the standout player for Liverpool all season,” said Given. “I think they’ve dipped as a team, obviously they’re champions, but this guy feels like he’s gone up a level if anything. He is a star performer.

“You don’t want to compare him to any people at Liverpool, but you think of a Steven Gerrard when he’s spraying those balls around the pitch. He is a special talent, this guy.”

The Real Madrid links have also been bolstered by Vinicus Jr’s recent comments about him and the Hungarian being friends after meeting when they were both younger. “I talk a lot with Szoboszlai,” said the 25-year-old in a YouTube interview. “We met when we were younger.
“A lot of players have messaged me to play in them [his upcoming boot partnership with Nike]!” he smiled. “Paqueta at Flamengo, Szoboszlai of Liverpool has also asked me.”

The Reds will next be in action against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, and fans will hope Szoboszlai can help the team even more.
