Dele Alli trains at Tottenham while searching for a new club

Midfielder Dele Alli has returned to Tottenham Hotspur to carry out individual training sessions.

The 29-year-old has been granted permission to use the club’s facilities as he focuses on regaining match fitness while seeking his next team.

Alli has shared several videos and clips from his workouts at the club’s academy complex on his social media accounts.

The midfielder has been without a club since September 2025, when his contract with Italian side Como was terminated.

Spurs connection remains strong

Alli recently returned to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as a special guest during the north London derby against Arsenal in February.

During his time in north London, he scored 67 goals in 269 matches across seven seasons before departing in 2022.

The majority of his playing career has been spent at Spurs, where he accumulated 19,150 minutes on the pitch.

Before joining Tottenham, Alli played for MK Dons, making 6,514 minutes of appearances for the club.

Difficult spell after leaving North London

Following his exit from Tottenham, problems with form and fitness made it difficult for Alli to secure a regular place elsewhere.

He featured for Everton between 2022 and 2024, making 13 appearances and spending 369 minutes on the field.

A loan move to Turkish club Beşiktaş followed, where he scored three goals in 15 matches between 2022 and 2023 and played a total of 830 minutes.

His most recent club was Como, where he made just one appearance as a late substitute against AC Milan. During that match, he was sent off for a challenge on midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

A return to Tottenham appears unlikely

As a free agent, Alli is eligible to sign with a club even outside the usual transfer windows.

However, a move back to Tottenham is considered improbable, although it cannot be entirely ruled out.

Any potential decision could depend on who is appointed as the club’s permanent manager in the summer.

Tottenham have stated that the former player is simply training on his own at their facilities and have not indicated that he is undergoing a trial.
