Nottingham Forest have confirmed the arrival of Vítor Pereira as their new head coach, with the Portuguese manager agreeing to an 18-month deal at the City Ground. The announcement came in the early hours of Thursday, shortly after the club decided to part company with Sean Dyche.
Dyche’s departure followed a 1-1 draw with Wolves in the Premier League. The result proved to be his final match in charge, bringing another swift change in leadership during a turbulent campaign for the Midlands outfit.
Pereira becomes the fourth man to take charge of Forest this season. Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and Dyche had all previously been dismissed as the club sought a turnaround.
Mixed fortunes during Wolves tenure
The 55-year-old’s most recent role was at Wolves, where his spell ended in November 2025. At the time of his exit, the club were bottom of the standings and still searching for a first league victory.
However, Pereira’s earlier work at Wolves painted a different picture. When he initially stepped in, the team were 19th in the table with only nine points collected from 16 fixtures. From that precarious position, he steered them clear of relegation danger.
Standout results included an important win over Tottenham and completing a league double against Manchester United. Those outcomes proved decisive in securing survival, while Wolves also recorded their highest Premier League goal total in a single season under his guidance.
Coaching team and immediate task
Forest confirmed that Pereira will not be arriving alone. Filipe Jorge Monteiro Almeida and Luis Miguel Moreira Da Silva have been appointed as assistant coaches, forming part of his trusted inner circle.
Bruno Filipe Araujo De Moura will oversee physical performance and opposition analysis, with Pedro Simao Capela Silva Lopes taking responsibility as opposition analyst.
Their immediate objective will be to stabilise a side that has already experienced multiple managerial changes this term, as Forest look to build momentum under their latest appointment.
